Character Attacks That Cross the Line

For far too long one of the most morally upright and hard working members of our community has been viscously persecuted and maligned; of course I am talking about the letter F.

F has been blamed for one of the most profane words in the English language, one that we refer to as “the F word”.   I am sure that there are some skeptics out there who would claim that it is called the “F-word” simply because F is the first letter, but if that’s the case why is assh#le A-hole and not the “A.H. word.” F was also chosen to represent the lowest grade and alphabetically it should have been E.  A naïve and simple-minded person might argue that F was chosen because the word failure starts with an f.  If that is what you believe let me drop a midterm sized alphabetical bomb on you.  A stands for excellent, B stands for very good, and D stands for needs improvement; none these letters start the words that their grades mean.  So why is it so important that F represent failure.

You are probably wondering who could possibly be responsible for such a malicious character attack?  The guilty party is someone you would expect to harass and impugn the reputation of an upstanding character like F; of course I am talking about the letter I.  The letter I is known loner; it likes to stand by itself and refuses to be in a team.  I has only one companion and that companion is the reason for its reputational attack on F; that cohort of I is the letter E.  I and the E have been known to run together, just ask C.   E has been known to start evil.   It was also E that would have been representing the grade of failure if it hadn’t been for their alphabetical manipulation.

It is up to us to rise above these deceitful characters, see through their letter trickery and give F the respect it deserves.   I say we serve E and I with some grade-A humility.
